2015 Concert Sneak Peak

Nothing beats going to a concert with an amazing headliner--especially a headliner that is well known. Maybe you have seen some of these people in concerts recently, but I know that some of you haven't. Some people would prefer experiencing nostalgia live and in person, and others would prefer to keep up with somebody they listen to on the radio and constantly see all over television and on social media accounts. Whether one is a person who likes a certain kind of singer or another, there is something here for everybody.

For those that enjoy a dominating singer on pop radio stations, Meghan Trainor is in the middle of her 2015 United States tour throughout the month of March. Her versatility will certainly impress fanatics, singers, and songwriters of many generations. Check her event schedule for concert dates: http://www.meghan-trainor.com/

In honor of the fans of modern pop and hip-hop with a little bit of dance, Iggy Azalea is headlining her debut tour with Nick Jonas and Tinashe. Iggy Azalea's songs, Nick Jonas' new style, and the breakthrough of Tinashe will lead to a wonderful night of high energy and hits. Check out her Great Escape Tour for local dates: http://iggyazalea.com/live

Another exciting tour from a rock and pop legend is going on right now, and it will be one for mature and younger listeners alike. One name - Ringo Starr. Ringo is touring with his All Starr Band for a tour of nostalgia. Be sure to pre-order his new album Postcards from Paradise and check out his event schedule for concert dates: http://www.ringostarr.com/

Last but not least, some more legendary artists are touring in the summer. Willie Nelson and Alison Krauss are having a tour together. The two artists have collaborated for Nelson's 2013 album: To All The Girls. Check out their tour and keep out for more dates they can do individually: http://willienelson.com/tour/

There are so many new and ongoing tours from artists such as country superstars Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, and Eric Church. More icons from Taylor Swift to Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett to U2 are hosting tours all throughout the year. Many more of these concerts will be recapped as they occur so keep an eye.

Dylan's 2015 Tribute Stands Out

As MusiCares' 2015 Person of the Year, it is no surprise that Bob Dylan's induction speech was going to want to get fans to pay attention. Immediately, former President Jimmy Carter introduced Dylan by making a bold statement that said that he believes that there is no doubt that Dylan's words of peace and power are more permanent and powerful than the words of any United States president. With that in mind, Dylan's speech would call out many legendary artists and songwriters: From Johnny Cash to Kris Kristofferson to Tom T. Hall--the latter whom he critiqued.

With all that is good that goes out to each of those music staples, Dylan's 2015 induction brought us to this year's greatest tribute performance as played by other popular artists from Beck to John Mellencamp along with a simulcasted performance by Garth Brooks. In further explanation, each song was originally written and recorded by Dylan himself.

As a company that focuses on benefitting the safety and critical assistance for artists and songwriters among others in the music industry, MusiCares is sure to provide tributes along with star-studded performances each year. Bob Dylan's induction as the Person of the Year follows a pattern that has been going on since 1991 as he joins artists such as Aretha Franklin, Paul McCartney, and Bruce Springsteen.

Welcome to My Blog

Hello everybody, as I am beginning my blog, I am taking a class on Marketing. At this moment, I have already learned a good number of terms for the class. In junction with this class, I will be reviewing news about artists, music releases, and most importantly, concerts. The concerts that I will be reviewing are concerts that are local to my area of Northern California, concerts of a different location that I was at least in attendance of, or popular performances that happened recently or will happen in the future. In addition to reviewing these subjects, I will also be promoting concerts on a mostly voluntary basis.

My goal upon writing this blog is to help keep the music industry alive by being a part of it. As a way for me to be a part of the music industry, I attend concerts and often try to talk to the performers. Many local concerts allow me to talk whoever I am able to get ahold of, but if I attend a show of a popular artist, it is usually a given to have things arranged ahead of time in order for me to exchange any full sentences with them.

On the contrary, I for one am not a fan of "meet and greets" being arranged in the ways they usually are. I believe that those who are fortunate enough to meet the artist that they paid to watch perform shall at least be able to talk to the person or band for few minutes as a minimum. Fortunately, artists such as Zac Brown agree with me. Thus, the term that he and his band go by is "Eat and Greet", a much more intimate experience of conversation between artists, bands, and at least a limited number of people in their audience.

I appreciate the time that you, the readers, spend on reading my blog entries, and I look forward to reading the feedback from each of you.
